First RIPE Meeting?

Welcome to the RIPE community. Our newcomers’ activities are set up to help you find your way to things that interest you, and to have a productive and fulfilling RIPE Meeting!

Before the RIPE Meeting

Join the Pre-Meeting Online Intro

If this is your first RIPE Meeting, you will receive an email inviting you to join the online RIPE 91 Intro Session, with a link to the online session. You do not need to register for either the online intro or the onsite introduction sessions.

Sign up for the RIPE Mentoring Programme

Get mentored by experienced RIPE community members. Mentorship is a great way to get to know people at a RIPE Meeting and get supported in finding your way.

Read the Useful Information section

There’s a lot of simple information that can help you plan your RIPE Meeting week available on the website - from which type of plug you need to public transport information. Go through the page for a smooth RIPE Meeting week.

Take a look at the Parallel Events

In addition to the RIPE Meeting itself, there are other activities you can participate in during the RIPE Meeting. It is possible to get certified onsite, or join in other activities. Events get added to the Parallel Events page as we get closer to the RIPE Meeting week, so check it regularly.

During the RIPE Meeting

Attend a Tutorial

Tutorials take place on Monday mornings, before the RIPE Meeting officially begins. You can get hands-on training on a range of topics from IPv6 to RPKI and more.

Join the Onsite Newcomers’ Intro and Lunch

Get an introduction to the week ahead at our newcomers’ introduction taking place just before the official opening session of the RIPE Meeting. Among others, the RIPE Chair, Mirjam Kühne and RIPE NCC CEO, Hans Petter Holen will share an overview of what you can expect from a RIPE Meeting week.

You do not need to register separately for this session.

This session is followed by lunch. There are designated tables to help you get to know your fellow newcomers and meet RIPE NCC staff and members of the RIPE community.
