Abstract

My team and I (made up of 2nd year students at TU Delft) have developed a tool allowing users to measure the accuracy of NTP servers, receiving data such as offset, round-trip time, precision, stratum etc., as well as being able to see historical data of the server and compare multiple servers. The application also integrates the RIPE Atlas API to measure the NTP server from probes close to the user. We would like to present the research we've done into these topics, including mapping a domain name to different IPs, selecting the closest probes (ASN vs prefix vs country), supporting measurements through IPv6 and how to compute certain results (e.g. offset, jitter).

I am a Bachelor's Computer Science student at Delft University of Technology. I am particularly passionate about the fields of Cyber Security and Computer Networks. My team and I, as the final project of the 2nd year, have developed a tool allowing users to measure the accuracy of their NTP servers, which we would like to showcase today.
