Anja Gengo
Anja Gengo works at the United Nations Secretariat for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Geneva. As a programme expert and focal point for the national and regional IGF initiatives, she supports the Forum’s mandate to foster inclusive and sustainable digital policy and capacity development.
Prior to joining the IGF Secretariat, she served as an analyst and legal advisor in private legal practice, focusing on human rights, media, and ICT law. She is also a co-founder of the Centre for Media Law, where she held roles as a digital policy and regulation analyst and programme coordinator.
Ms. Gengo has over a decade of experience as a debater, trainer, and judge in the Karl Popper and British Parliamentary debate formats, with participation in numerous tournaments. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law, a master’s degree in International Law, and a master’s degree in Transnational Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law. Her academic research has concentrated on the intersections between digital technologies and international law. She is an alumna of the Monroe E. Price International Media Law and Policy Programme at the University of Oxford and the Annenberg School of Communication.
