Eric Andrei Băleanu

Eric Andrei Băleanu has been an active member of the Internet and network operators’ community in Romania and Eastern Europe for over 20 years. As President of the Board of Directors of the Interlan Association, he leads InterLAN-IX, Romania’s largest and most connected Internet Exchange. He also runs a successful local ISP business, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities faced by regional network operators for more than two decades.

Eric has been actively involved in the Romanian Network Operators Group (RONOG) since its early days, contributing to community growth and organizing key industry events. He serves on the RIPE SEE Programme Committee and the Global Peering Forum Programme Committee and is a RIPE Atlas Ambassador and mentor at RIPE Meetings.

As a committed community builder, he promotes collaboration among ISPs, content providers, and technology stakeholders, both locally and internationally. Under his leadership, InterLAN-IX has hosted and supported major industry gatherings, including Euro-IX forums, RIPE Meetings, and ISOC (Internet Society) meetings, while continuing to foster interconnection and the development of a robust Internet ecosystem in the region. He is also dedicated to strengthening the regional Internet community.
